Sending a shipment that needs to arrive fresh?

You've come to the right place. We employ state-of-the-art equipment to transport such perishable cargo such as produce, seafood, floral products, fruits, berries and live tropical fish. However, since these items are typically sensitive to temperature extremes, there may be occasions where the transit times you are trying to meet may prevent your shipment from being accepted. For your package's safety, we have certain requirements in place to help ensure the freshness of your shipment, not to mention protect aircraft from damage caused by leaking boxes or shipping containers.

To comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), please register all foreign and domestic food facilities and provide prior notice of "shipments of human and animal food being imported or offered for import into the U.S."

We encourage you to comply with all governmental regulations. It may minimize delays in clearing your shipment for travel.

Register and find more information on the FDA's website.

We accept valuable cargo on flights using ExpediteFS service.

We know valuable cargo requires special handling, so certain restrictions may apply. In other instances, regardless of the value declared, the following items are also considered to be valuable cargo and may be subject to certain rules and restrictions:

  • Works of art
  • Bills of exchange, bonds and bullion
  • Currency and coinage of any denomination, declared value or quantity
  • Data tapes containing sensitive personal data
  • Deeds and dore bullion

  • Silver bullion (cut or uncut, coined or uncoined), concentrates, cyanides, precipitates or sulfides

Dangerous Goods

Written by Super User on . Posted in Learn

Get it there safe and sound.

Sometimes it's necessary to ship dangerous goods. These goods - also referred to as "Restricted Articles" - can pose a significant risk to health, safety or property, especially when they're being transported by air. This is not a problem for most dangerous goods if they are in approved quantities and properly packaged and handled. That's why we make sure that our guidelines for accepting Restricted Articles are in accordance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and all other applicable domestic and international rules and regulations as well.

That's also why we reserve the right to screen, open and inspect all shipments transported on our domestic and international flights.

Additionally it is illegal to ship any dangerous goods that have not been properly declared, identified, packaged, marked, labeled or documented to any airline. Failing to do so can result in up to five years in prison and fines of $250,000 USD or more imposed by the United States Department of Transportation. All dangerous goods are handled through our Confirmedfs service, with the lone exception of dry ice, which may travel through Priority Parcel ServiceSM, ExpediteFSSM or ConfirmedFSSM. Certain fees may apply when shipping dangerous goods. These may vary by the amount of restricted articles being shipped as well as by the destination.

Please keep in mind that no dangerous goods, with the exception of dry ice, are allowed to be shipped on AmericanConnection flights. Shipments containing bio are subject to Category B (via PPS)
